Community and Hospital Exposure
Our classes started with the news that we we're to have our exposure that week, and luckily, things did went out well. After that community exposure, we had our lecture week. That week was very tiring, i wonder. Maybe it was just because we were still adjusting to our tough schedule, plus all the subjects were grinding hard on us. Thank God I've passed that week.
Now, we just had our hospital exposure with the same groupmates. The group was assigned in St. Anthony Mother and Child Hospital in Cabreros, Mambaling, Cebu. I have been there last February with my old group, and the area assigned was still the same, the Out Patient Department. Well, I was confident that things would go well and lightly. There was not really that much critical things to do in that area, what we mostly did were stuffs health centers also did. Sorts like administering immunizations, prenatal check-up, and general consultation.
But what I loved with this exposure was the time we had in the area, and the presence of our Clinical Instructor, Mr. Jose Mari Louis Alforque. Before, when we were just newly grouped last summer, I can really sense a lot of awkwardness and shyness among people. But now, it seems that those things faded away and people are now more open, more approachable, and are comfortable with each other. I've seen changes in those people, and they are for good. Whenever we gather around or just stayed in one place together, the boys in the group would start throwing in jokes, goes teasing our youngest (kay) and even our god (goddessa). We would laugh out loud with the jokes, argue on some things, and say, also talk about serious matters. And what's so lovely is that our instructor is very cool, he jams with us, joins our joke times, and answers our questions well, he never got mad or angry with us. OH, how I like his company with us. Just another person who helped us in our journey, and has given us a lot of things to learn.
And as we're currently on our lecture week, I can see that things would be fun in the upcoming days. I can't wait for our community exposure next week!
^_^
